Komet version 6.0 - Release Notes

Komet is quite simply the most advanced and powerful software solution for analysis, data management and presentation of comet assay samples. Over 400 Komet systems have been sold to the world's leading academic, clinical and contract research laboratories.

Komet 6.0, our latest release, provides compatibility with Andor EMCCD cameras and brings together top quality image detection with image analysis algorithms which have been field-proven over more than 15 years. Komet 6.0 continues the use of Databases to store images and data for every cell, integrated into a single experimental archive – an innovation first released in 2002. The Database archives can be interrogated, shared, reviewed, decoded and summarized for statistical interpretation using the Komet’s Database Viewer.

Best of all, Komet 6.0 is now available as a packaged solution at an extremely attractive price, including PC workstation and choice of Andor low-light imaging camera, providing great high performance, great value and guaranteed compatibility out of the box.

Komet 6.0 is offered in various configurations and packages as follows.

• Andor Komet WKS EMR – Komet 6.0 and DBV provided with Andor’s unique Luca-R and Windows PC. Luca-R is a Megapixel format, 8μm pixel EMCCD digital camera, which provides high sensitivity detection and “on-chip” amplification for low signal environments.Luca-R is conveniently interfaced to the PC via USB 2.0 and can be used other applications such as FISH and general fluorescence imaging. • Andor Komet WKS EMS – Komet 6.0 and DBV provided with Andor’s unique Luca-S and Windows PC. Luca-S is a USB 2.0 VGA format (658x480) 10 um pixel EMCCD digital camera. It offers high sensitivity detection and “on-chip” amplification for low signal applications. Request Quote
• Andor Komet Scope R/S - Both the EMR and EMS workstation solutions above can be supplied with a current generation Nikon Eclipse epi-fluorescence microscope as a single source solution from Andor in all markets. In Europe the instrument can be configured optionally on an Olympus, Zeiss or Leica microscope of your preference. Request Quote
• Andor Komet 6.0R – Komet and DBV software for installation on customer Windows PC, which provides imaging, capture, analysis live from for Andor and analysis from a wide range of file formats pre-stored on disk. “6.0F” assumes the user has another capture system which is used for image acquisitions and includes DBV.
